News Investigators/ The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAA), has distributed the sum of N1.96 trillion among the federal, states, and local government councils, being accrued revenue for December 2025.
A communiqué from FAAC issued by the director of press and public relations at the office of the accountant-general of the federation, Bawa Mokwa, explained that the Committee had held its meeting in January, but failed to make public details of the allocation until now.
According to the communiqué, the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N1.08 trillion, value-added tax (VAT) revenue of N846.5 billion, and an electronic money transfer levy (EMTL) income of N38.11 billion.
The FAAC said a total gross revenue of N2.58 trillion was available in December 2025.
“Total deduction for cost of collection was N104.697 billion while total transfers, refunds and savings was N511.585 billion,” the communique reads.
According to the communiqué, a gross statutory revenue of N1.63 trillion was received for December 2025.
“This was lower than the sum of N1.736 trillion received in the month of November 2025 by N105.202 billion,” it added.
“Gross revenue of N913.957 billion was available from the VAT in December 2025. This was higher than the N563.042 billion available in the month of November 2025 by N350.915 billion.”
Out of the N1.969 trillion total distributable revenue, the committee said the federal government received N653.5 billion, the states received N706.4 billion, the local governments got N513.2 billion, while N96.08 billion was shared with benefiting states as 13 percent derivation revenue.

The FAAC also said the federal government received N520.8 billion, and the states got N264.160 billion out of the N1.084 trillion distributable statutory revenue.
“The local government received N203.656 billion and the sum of N96.083 billion (13 per cent of mineral revenue) was shared to the benefiting States as derivation revenue,” the committee said.
“From the N846.507 billion distributable VAT revenue, the federal government received N126.976 billion, the state governments received N423.254 billion and the local government received N296.277 billion.”
In addition, from the N38.110 billion for EMTL, the committee said N5.71 billion went to the federal government, the states received N19.05 billion, while the local governments got N13.33 billion.
The committee said company income tax, import duty, and VAT increased significantly in December 2025.
The FAAC also said oil and gas royalty, CET levies and fees increased marginally, while excise duty, petroleum profit tax and EMTL recorded considerable decreases.
