EKITI GUBER: OYEBAMIJI’S VICTORY AFFIRMS APC’S ACCEPTANCE-BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the victory of Mr Biodun Oyebanji, the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, affirms the acceptance of the party 

The Indepedent National Electoral Commission declared Oyebanji, a former Secretary to the Ekiti State Government as the winner of Ekiti State Governorship election.

Buhari who congratulated the Ekiti State Governor-elect on his victory said

that the victory was well-deserved considering Oyebanji’s contributions to the development of the State and the party.

 Buhari whose comments were contained in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, urged Oyebanji to be magnanimous in victory in the interest of the people of the State. 

He charged APC members to see the party’s victory as a positive sign ahead of 2023 general election and to repeat it in the Osun gubernatorial election scheduled for July, 2022.

“This is a good beginning for you and your team. The APC is getting stronger and more united. The victory of our party in Ekiti is an indication of the confidence of Nigerians in the ability of our great party to deliver quality governance to all,” the President was quoted to have said.  

The President commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and the law enforcement agencies for the measures adopted for the conduct of the elections, and ensure they sustain it.

He congratulated the APC chairman, Abdulahi Adamu, and membership of the National Working Committee for first victory of the party under their leadership.
