Eid-el-Maulud: Wike Felicitates With FCT Residents, Urges Unity, Peace

News Investigators/ The FCT Minister, Nyesome Wike, on behalf of the Administration of the Federal Capital Territory, extended Eid-el-Maulud felicitations to residents and called for unity and peace.

According to Mr Wike in his message on Friday in Abuja, FCT is blessed with diverse and vibrant community that represents the rich cultures of the nation.

“The citizens strength is in unity, and the nation’s progress depended on citizens’ ability to live in harmony with one another.”

He commended FCT residents for their unwavering commitment to peace and harmony.

He also thanked them for their cooperation, understanding and support, without which the present administration would not have achieved the much achieved in the short time since the current leadership assumed office.

“It is with immense joy that I extend my warmest greetings to all residents of the FCT on this auspicious occasion of Eid-El-Maulud.

“This significant day marks the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and a time when we reflect on his teachings of peace, compassion, and unity.

“Eid-el Maulud is not just a celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad, it is an opportunity for us to come together as residents of the FCT to uphold our commitment to values of acceptance, love and kindness that the Prophet preached.

“It is a time to remember the importance of compassion and the virtues of togetherness that should guide our interactions with one another irrespective of our beliefs.”

Mr Wike expressed  appreciation to the law enforcement agencies, healthcare workers, and all essential service providers who continued to work tirelessly to keep FCT city safe and functioning.

He also reiterated the administration’s commitment to meeting its obligations to FCT residents.

He said the administration would continue to provide essential infrastructure, security and other services to enhance the quality of life.

Mr Wike said the FCTA remained committed to infrastructure development to improve connectivity and accessibility across the FCT.

He said access to quality medical care would be expanded , and enhanced emergency response services as well as ensuring a safer environment for residents and visitors alike.

“As we celebrate this day, I urge you all to extend a hand of friendship, reach out to your neighbors, regardless of their background or beliefs, and foster a sense of community.

“Participate in programmes that promote social cohesion, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.”

Mr Wike also urged residents to meet their obligations to government and society.

He urged them to contribute to the growth and progress of the FCT by obeying traffic rules, paying their taxes, and engaging in civic activities.

He implored them to use the auspicious occasion to also pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu.

“We appreciate his support for the FCT administration and efforts toward the development of the nation’s capital and uplifting the people.

“May this Eid-el-Maulud bring you and your families peace, prosperity, and happiness.

“Let us strive to emulate the virtues of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in our daily lives, fostering a society where everyone thrives in peace and security.”
