Eid-el-Kabir: BUA Cement Donates 12 Cows, Rice To Host Communities In Sokoto

News Investigators/ The BUA Cement company has presented 12 cows and 200 bags of rice worth N70 million to 1,700 households in five  host communities in Sokoto for Eid-el-kabir celebrations

The BUA Managing Director, Yusuf Binji, led the presentation of the items to traditional rulers from the communities on Wednesday in Sokoto.

Mr Binji, who was represented by the Assistant Director, Administration and Corporate Affairs, Mr Sada Suleiman, said the measure was in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) to host communities.

He said the gesture was intended for less privileged persons to celebrate alongside others.

Mr Binji said that monitoring teams were constituted to oversee the distribution exercise.

Earlier, the Principal Social Performance Officer, Rabi’u Maska, said the  five benefiting communities were Wamakko, Gumbi, Arkilla, Kalambaina and Wajekke.

Mr Maska said the company plans to expand the gesture in the coming years to cover more communities.

He explained that the company has over the years engaged in other measures like annual distribution of bags of cements for the repairs of public structures across host communities.

Responding on behalf of benefiting communities, the Special Adviser to Gov. Ahmad Aliyu on Corporate Services, Alhaji Usman Arzika, expressed appreciation for the gesture which he described as timely.
