Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have stormed the Moshood Abiola Stadium venue of the ongoing Presidential Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The EFCC operatives visited the venue while the accreditation of delegates was ongoing.
The operatives who stormed the venue in the branded operational vests of the commission attracted attention from the party officials and journalists at the event.
The EFCC operatives triggered speculations they they might have been at the venue to monitor the reported large exchange of money in Dollars by contestants in the competition to buy the votes of delegates.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren told the Network on the telephone that the operatives were only on a mission to observe and also monitor possible movement of funds during the events.
He said, “The operatives are there just to observe the event, and also to monitor any possible issue relating to funds deployment.”
