EFCC Moves Arrested Ogun State Speaker To Abuja

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has moved the arrested Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo to Abuja.

The Network gathered that the embattled speaker was moved to Abuja n compliance with directives from the commission’s leadership.

The Speaker is billed to face a team of investigators who are waiting to grill him for allegations of corruption and misappropriation of public funds.

However, the the source could not give the amount of money involved in the allegations of embezzlement against the speaker.

The source said, “It is true that he has been flown from Lagos to Abuja.

“He is to be interrogated by a team of investigators in connection with misappropriation of public funds.”

Oluomo was apprehended on Thursday morning by the Lagos Office of the EFCC over allegations bordering on financial crimes.

He was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, by operatives following a tip off and was been moved to the 15 Awolowo Road Ikoyi office of the anti graft agency.

It was stated that the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, had in the past been invited by the Commission but failed to honour his invitations.

The Head, Media and Publicity of the EFCC is yet to respond following a request by NETWORK.
