The Department of State Services has released the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, from detention after 134 days
The Secret Police arrested Bawa on June 14, 2023, shortly after his suspension from office as EFCC Chairman by President Bola Tinubu.
Although he was arrested and detained over alleged abuse of office, the DSS did not arraign him for any offence.
There are reports that the DSS held Bawa for a long time for refusing to make statement to the agency.
He was however released on Wednesday night.
