Strong indications have emerged that operatives of Department of State Services have taken into custody the Uber Driver who gave a ride to operative who jumped into the Lagos Lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge.

The lady whose identity was revealed as Miss Adetutu Adedokun, an unarmed combat instructor,  with the DSS, Lagos was said to have jumped off the Third Mainland Bridge after a heated argument with her boyfriend on Thursday night.

 The Network investigation revealed that operatives of DSS and Marine Police are still searching frantically to retrieve the body of the lady without success.

Sources close to the deceased officer said that she was engaged in 2020 and performed so brilliantly that she got the Director General’s award for the best student.

The Network gathered that she was known to be a friendly and decently behaved person until the shocking incident.

It was learnt that the incident threw everybody including her colleagues into confusion.

The source said that the DSS is still probing the death of the lady and is leaving nothing to chance about it. 

The Network investigation revealed that the body of the lady has not been found by a combined team of marine policemen, Lagos State Government Officials and the DSS as at Saturday evening.

Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency had said the lady, in her late thirties, was in a taxi, when she alighted and plunged into the lagoon.

“Upon arrival of the LRT at the incident scene, investigation revealed that a lady in her late thirties (30s) plunged into the Lagos lagoon…

“The driver of the taxi claimed she was having a heated conversation with her fiance before alighting from the car.

“The LRT, Men of Lagos State fire and rescue service, LASWA and officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) are currently on ground working better together to search for the victim.” He had said 

However, four days after incident, those involved in the search for the body have not found it as at Sunday.
