News Investigators/ The Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Barau Jibrin, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Galadiman Kano, Abbas Sunusi, Sunusi, who passed away at the age of 91, describing him as an elder statesman.
Mr. Barau, a senator representing Kano North said the late Sunusi was a bridge builder and revered traditional leader.
The Deputy Senate President who spoke shortly after the burial, praised Sunusi’s selflessness, dedication and compassion which inspired countless lives, especially in his home state of Kano.
“He was known for his immense contributions to the growth and development of the Kano Emirate and Kano State in general.
He consoled the family, urging them to find solace in the fact that Sunusi was a devout Muslim who spent his life serving Allah and humanity.
Barau acknowledged the significant impact of Sunusi’s passage, stating that his demise has created a huge vacuum that cannot be easily filled.
The lawmaker prayed to Allah to forgive him his shortcomings, grant him Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
He extended his condolences to the immediate family, particularly Prince Abdullahi Abbas, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Kano.
