The defection of the All Progressives Congress federal lawmakers to opposition parties, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and other parties are giving the National Chairman, APC, Abdullahi Adamu serious concern.
Adamu on Wednesday said the increasing spate of defections by the party’s federal lawmakers to opposition parties is worrisome.
He made the disclosure after a closed-door meeting with party members at the National Assembly.
The APC chairman confirmed his fears but concluded that the party is handicapped at stopping it.
He added that defections are normal during an election year as those who feel dissatisfied with the outcome of party primaries are free to test their popularity in other political parties.
