Residents of Umuifediuba Umuomukwe Amakwa Community in Ozubulu town, Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra are currently in grief over the mysterious death of six members of a family in the area.
The deceased include a man, Mr Augustine Nwokedi (41 years), Mrs. Josephine Nwokedi (his wife, aged 39 years and their four children.
The names of the four children were given as Master Emmanuel Chinaemelem Nwokedi (19yrs), Godwin Chigozie Nwokedi (9yrs), Miss Blessing Chinazaekpere Nwokedi (6yrs) and three year old Master Joseph Chinaedum Nwokedi.
Both parents and their four children had died mysteriously after after taking their dinner on October 8th 2022.
The bodies of the deceased were discovered in their apartment by neighbours.
It was learnt that the ugly incident occured after members of the family had their dinner and went to bed, but were discovered dead the next morning.
Source said the family were suspected to have died of food poisoning.
The deceased family has slated 29th November 2022 for burial of the six dead family members.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga when contacted on Wednesday said the incident was not before the command.
