News Investigators/ The Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force, North-West (Operation Fansan Yamma), Maj.-Gen. Oluyinka Soyele, has charged the troops to renew their commitment to combating insecurity in the region.
Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator, Joint Media Coordination Centre, disclosed this is in a statement issued in Gusau on Wednesday.
Abdullahi quoted Soyele as giving the charge during a Christmas lunch organised for the troops in Gusau, Zamfara on Wednesday.
“Let me use this medium to encourage our troops to renew their vigor and commitment as they move into the New Year.
“I want to emphasise the importance of adaptability and responsiveness to evolving challenges.
“I urge you to use your experiences and lessons from the past year to improve in future operations,” he charged.
The commander called on the troops to avoid communicating with the enemy under any circumstances.
He lauded their efforts for the recent achievements recorded, saying that their operational successes in the theatre remained as source of pride to the Nigerian Army.
While acknowledging the resilience and dedication shown by the troops amidst challenging conditions, Soyele recognised their essential role in restoring stability and peace to the region.
Soyele expressed gratitude for the troops’ dedication and professionalism and assured them of continued support.
The commander encouraged them to maintain highest standards of conduct, decorum, discipline and integrity.
He said the Christmas lunch provided an opportunity for the Theatre Commander to emphasise the significance of discretion and vigilance during operations.
The event not only celebrated the festive season but also reinforces camaraderie and unity among the troops.
