•••PAYS N100 MILLION FOR NOMINATION FORM
Nigeria’s Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, on Friday, joined the presidental race after several months of speculations and denial.
The apex bank’s Governor picked up his Presidental express of interest and nomination forms at the All Progressives Congress, APC, Secretariat, after paying the mandatory N100 million.
The Network, gathered that
the APC, Finance Department of the party, has recieved the CBN, boss payment of N100 million for the nomination and expression of interest forms and has released his forms.
For months, Emefiele expressly denied any involvement in the 2023 presidental race and allegedly warned the campaigners against dragging him into the race.
According to Emefiele, the attempt to drag him into the presidential race was a distraction, adding that he was rather focused on fixing Nigeria’s monetary policies and aligning them with Federal Government’s fiscal policies.
There were reports of branded campaign vehicles purchased on behalf of the CBN Governor’s campaign which his group vehemently denied of any link to him.
