News Investigators/ The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as “a great national loss.”
The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, said this in a condolence message on Sunday in Gombe.
He described Buhari as a symbol of integrity, discipline, and patriotism, who served Nigeria with conviction both as a military leader and a democratically elected president.
Mr Yahaya said Buhari’s leadership embodied sacrifice and a strong commitment to unity and good governance, adding that his death leaves a significant vacuum in national life.
While symphatising with Buhari’s family, the Daura Emirate Council, the Katsina State Government, and Nigerians, Yahaya prayed Allah to grant him eternal rest.
Also, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has expressed shocked over the passing of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in London.
Mr Mohammad said that Bubari served Nigeria with commitment and deep sense of duty.
“I received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, this afternoon in London.
“President Buhari was a great leader who served Nigeria with commitment and a deep sense of duty. His contributions to national development and his steadfastness in leadership will be remembered..
“May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the death of the former president has sparked emotional attributes by the residents of Bauchi metropolis.
Mr Musajo Buba, a resident, expressed shock over the death, adding that the ex-Nigerian leader was a patriot, who served with courage, discipline and unwavering commitment.
He said that Buhari played significant role in shaping Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.
Another resident, Sanusi Tilde, praised the late president for his integrity and anti-corruption stance.
