The President of Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2023 Appropriation Bill into law on Tuesday,
The Senate President made the disclosure while speaking with State House Correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari on Friday.
Senator Lawan who got the the Presidential Villa a few minutes before 3pm said that Buhari will append his signature to the Bill after going through it.
Lawan attributed the delay in signing the appropriation by one week to anomalies discovered in the appropriation Bill by the National Assembly.
He regretted that the budget would be signed slightly later than that of 2022 which was signed on December 31,
He stated also that he discussed the recent request for Loan, the appropriation Bill and the 2023 general elections with the President.
He gave the assurance that the National Assembly would ensure that the Independent National Electoral Commission gets the requisite budgetary provisions to conduct a free and fair election.
