News Investigators/ Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The recent development came barely 12 hours after Fubara’s deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, formally announced her defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mr Anabraba’s resignation, which was contained in a letter to the PDP Chairman, Ward 1, Akuku-Toru local government area of the state and dated January 5, 2026, stated that the decision to leave the party was personal.
The letter from the SSG, who is also a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, however, did not disclose if he was joining the APC.
It read in part: “Please, be informed that I have resigned my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The decision to leave the party is personal.
“I appreciate the political leverage gained from the party during the period of my membership, and wish the party well in the future. Please accept the regards of my highest esteem.”
