Breaking: Akpabio Elected Senate President of 10th Senate

The former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, has been elected as the President of the 10th Senate.

Akpabio, a two term Governor of Akwa Ibom State defeated a former governor of Zamfara State, Abdelaziz Yari, to be one the President of the 10th Senate on Tuesday.

Akpabio polled 63 votes to defeat Yari who got votes 46 votes.

Voting commenced at 8:45 am with the senators voting state by state on alphabetical order and ended at 9:15am
