The Attorney General of Lagos State Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, has filed a one-count charge of unlawful killing against Mr. Drambi Vandi, the killer of Mrs Bolanle Raheem, a Lagos Lawyer on Christmas Day.
The Attorney General filed the one-count charge of murder against the trigger happy policeman ASP Vandi who appeared before the Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos on Friday.
Onigbanjo appeared before the Chief Magistrate Court, presided over by Adeola Olatunbosun, and applied for the remand of the ASP pursuant to Section 264 of the Administration by of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos, 2015.
The AG sought the relief of the court to detain the suspected killer to give the police time to conclude investigation into the killing.
The presiding magistrate granted the request to remand the defendant at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.
He also that ordered that the case file be duplicated and sent to the Director of Public Prosecution, Dr. Jide Martins, for legal advice.
The Chief Magistrate adjourned the matter to January 30, 2023, to await legal advice.
“That you ASP Drambi Vandi on the 25th day of December 2022, at Ajah Road, along the Lekki Expressway, Lagos, unlawfully killed one Omobolanle Raheem by shooting the deceased in the chest contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015,” the charge read.
