The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Bayelsa State Command, Mr Ben Nebolisa Okolo, has directed operatives to go after the murderers of a prominent Chieftain of the All Progressive me Congress, Hon Frank Oputu in Yenagoa.

Asinim Butswat, a Superintendent of Police, said in a statement on Wednesday that the CP also gave the assurance that the culprits will be arrested and brought to justice.
Butswat said that the assassins fired several shots at the late politician through the window and inflicted lethal
Injuries on him.
The Police Spokesman said that the politician who was immediately rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention couldn’t survive the attack.
According to him, the attack occurred at the late Oputu’s residence at No. 1 Jonah Road Bay- Bridge, Kpansia, Yenagoa.
“On 26 April 2022, at about 2300 hours, gunmen scaled the fence and gained access to the residence of Hon. Frank Oputu located at No. 1 Jonah Road Bay- Bridge, Kpansia, fired several shots at the Honourable through the window of his bedroom and fatally injured him.
“The injured victim was rushed to Federal Medical Center, Yenagoa, where he was confirmed dead.The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
“The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Command CP Ben Nebolisa Okolo fdc, has charged officers to intensifies efforts to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
“He further re-assures members of the public on the Command’s resolved at ensuring the culprits are arrested and brought to book.
“The Command urged members of the public to remain calm. Investigation is ongoing.” The statement read
