BANDITS KILL ABDUCTED CATHOLIC PRIEST IN KADUNA

Bandits have killed Reverend Father John Cheitnum, one of the two Catholic priests abducted in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

John Cheitnum was the Director of Communications at the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan.

He was also the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) In Jema’a LGA of the state.

The Chancellor of Kafanchan Catholic Diocese, Reverend Father Emmanuel Okolo, said in a statement on Tuesday the decomposing body of the priest was discovered on Tuesday.

Reverend Father Cheitnum and his colleague, Reverend Father Donatus Cleopas, were kidnapped by bandits on July 16.

The two were were at the rectory of Christ the King Catholic Church, Yadin Garu in Lere local government while carrying out their pastoral duties.

The Network gathered that the bandits released Reverend Father Cleopas, after collecting an undisclosed ransom.
