Association To Sink 2 Boreholes In Busu Community

News Investigators/ The Busu Development Association (BUDA) has promised to sink two boreholes in Busu community of Niger State to ensure adequate supply of portable water to the people.

This was disclosed by the BUDA Chairman, Baba Kolo at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Busu Town Hall, Lavun Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the gesture is aimed at boosting adequate clean water supply to the people of the area.

The Chairman harped on the need for sustainable peace and unity in the area, saying without peace, no development could be recorded.

Mr kolo also called for concerted efforts by the members of the association towards complementing the effort of government by executing community development projects.

Mr Kolo, who holds the traditional title of Chiroman Busu, said the association, under his leadership, had embarked on projects that would bring development to the community.

He called on sons and daughters of the community to contribute positively to the development of the community.

“The aims and objectives of the Association include to foster strong indissolvable peace/unity and promote the spirit of oneness among Busu community members.

“To promote academic in the area of technical science education and infrastructure development in the community.

He said BUDA would also promote social and cultural activities in the community and foster cordial relationship with government and development partners among others,” he said.

“Things that we were able to do since Dec. 26, 2023 to date include mobilisation of parents to pay NECO and WAEC exam fees for 2021-2024.

“We facilitated the movement of two Deputy Directors from Ministry of Education Minna to Busu Secondary School to enlighten and educate students on the importance of education.”

The chairman said BUDA also supported voluntary teachers of Busu Primary School with cash donation to boost their morale.

Mr Kolo also said that they supported JAMB enrolment for 2023/2024 for Busu Secondary School and initiated projects on Busu Rural/Urban planning.

“We facilitated the reconstruction of Majin Kaji bridge and the provision of medical services that saw to the Cervical Cancer Screening for women of reproductive age in Busu Clinic and formation of women committee and election conducted,” he said.

He Chairman further said that lack of fund to carry out reasonable projects was the major challenge facing the association.

He appreciated traditional rulers, title holders. stakeholders and other members of the community for their contributions to the development of the community and called for more efforts in that direction.

“To the village, I say thank you and appreciated all and sundry for their unflinching support for the development of Busu, Lavun, Niger and indeed Nigeria.
