APC ZONAL LEADER, 100 OTHERS DEFECT TO PDP IN OYO

The All Progressive Congress (APC), zonal leader in Ibadan,Oyo State, Alhaji Bashiru Ajibade, on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with over 100 suppoerters.

The defection of the APC members took place at a rally at the IMG school, Eleta.

Also defected to the PDP are prominent stakeholders like Alhaji Abass Najeemdeen Gbayawu, Alhaji Bolaji Akinyemi Kosigiri, Engr Kayode Arowolo, Barrister Rotimi Okeowo, among others.

While addressing the crowd on behalf of the decampees, Prince Olumuyiwa Akinbiyi said they opted out of the APC because they were not happy with the manipulations of the Congress and primary election result by a cabal which allegedly hijacked the APC in the state.

He added that they were leaving the APC with majority of the members in the local government to support the re-election bid of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Director-General for Seyi Makinde Gubernatorial campaign, Chief Bayo Lawal, welcomed the decampees on behalf of Governor Makinde by Chief Bayo Lawal.

Also present at the event to recieve the decampees were the Chairman of Ibadan South East LG, Emmanuel Alawode and Kazeem Adeniyi Bibire, SA to the Governor on LG and Chieftaincy matters.
