News Investigators/ Sonny Miniedafe, an APC chieftain in Adamawa, has urged unity and collaboration between old and new party members to strengthen the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Mr Miniedafe, who doubles as the Jagaban of Jimeta, made the call while addressing newsmen during a stakeholders engagement on Monday, in Yola.
He said the recent alignment of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri with the All Progressive Congress (APC) provided a significant political opportunity for the party to consolidate its strength and expand its support base.
“I urge long-standing members of the party not to see the new entrants as a threat but as partners whose presence could further strengthen the APC in the state.
“The governor’s defection to the ruling party is historic, describing Fintiri as the first governor in Nigeria’s political history to move into another party alongside a large number of loyal supporters,” he said.
He noted that the development strides recorded under Fintiri’s administration had positioned the party for greater electoral success in Adamawa.
The APC stalwart also appealed to party members in the Adamawa Southern Senatorial Zone to avoid division and work together to ensure unity and stability within the party.
He stressed that cooperation and collective commitment among members would enhance effective mobilisation and improve the party’s chances of victory in the 2027 elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the political scene in Adamawa, began to experience an uproar between old and new members with the defection of Fintiri from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.
