The Anambra Youth Volunteers in collaboration with Anambra Joint Enforcement Team (ANJET), on Saturday night raided the entire upper Iweka and dislodged no fewer than 80 criminal elements terrorizing the area.

Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, leader of Anambra Youth Volunteers and ANJET Zonal Coordinator, Anambra North, in a statement issued Sunday morning, said the operation is in line with Gov. Chukwuma Soludo’s instruction that the state must have a crime free Yuletide.

“The attached videos show amateur footages of apprehended suspected criminals and the hideout from which they perpetrate heinous crimes. Going forward, the Anambra Youth Volunteers in collaboration with ANJET and other law enforcement agencies will continue to make Upper Iweka and environs uninhabitable for criminals.

“We have deployed a team of local youth volunteers around the State to support law enforcement agencies with intelligence and enforcement where necessary.

“We urge Anambra citizens to support Mr Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s effort to make our homeland Liveable and prosperous,” Okpalaezeukwu said.
