Anambra Police Commissioner, Echeng Eworo Echeng has urged the newly decorated Superintendents of Police (SP) to see their promotion as a call to more works.

He gave the advice on Wednesday while decorating the newly promoted 39 officers from the ranks of Deputy Suppritendents of Police (DSP) to SP in the state command headquarters, Awka.

Echeng said that those promoted to the new ranks were found worthy for the next ranks by the IGP and police service commission.

“Promotion comes from God just like the work that goes with the promotions and responsibility.

“Every promotion goes with responsibility and the police will be watching you, at your various new postings.

“As you are decorated here today you will experience postings and your posting will take you to the position of divisional police officer (DPO) and other management levels.

“We are going to be watching you henceforth from what you are doing in your various new positions and postings,” he said.

He commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba. for considering them worthy for the new ranks.

According to him, the IGP had always kept his promise of giving to any officer what is due to him or her in the police force .

He said that since the IGP came on board, he has always given promotions to the worthy officers, while urging the newly prompted officer to reciprocate the gesture.
