Alia Urges corps Members To Serve Communities Selflessly

News Investigators/ Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, on Tuesday, urged corps members to demonstrate utmost commitment in service to their places of primary assignments and host communities.

Mr Alia stated this at the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I  orientation course.

Mr Alia, who was represented by Mr Philip Nongu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports and Youths Development,  commended the corps members for their disciplined and positive conduct at the camp.

He enjoined them to continue with the same conduct at their places of primary assignments, advising that they must not indulge in acts that would bring disrepute to their parents and the country, as government pikin’.

Earlier, the state Coordinator of NYSC, Veronica Garba, expressed delight at the discipline exhibited throughout the orientation course by the corps members through active participation in all camp activities.

Mrs Garba advised them to always remember that they owed the nation the responsibility to serve selflessly and leave enduring legacies in their host communities.

“Desist from acts that will tarnish the image of the NYSC while you try to integrate well in your host communities.

“Respect the cultures and traditions of your host communities, and make sure that you maximise the service year by gaining insights that will shape your future, ”she said.
