There are strong indications of a seeming frosty relationship between the Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The Governor on Tuesday sacked all media aides attached to the Deputy Governor with immediate effect.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Olabode Olatunde, who announced the Governor’s decision in a statement on Tuesday gave no reason for the drastic move.
Those sacked are the Press Secretary to the Governor, Kenneth Odusola; Special Assistant to Governor (New Media), Oladipupo Okunniga; and Special Assistant to the Governor (Photography) Samson Abayomi Adefolalu.
The Governor also disbanded the press crew attached to the office of the deputy governor.
All the affected staff were directed to submit all government properties in their custody to the Acting Permanent Secretary, office of the deputy governor.
The Governor’s Aide also directed the withdrawn members of the press crew to report back to their various ministries and stations.
The statement directed the Ministry of Information and Orientation to provide due coverage for the activities of the deputy’s governor office.
