Aiyedatiwa Distributes Operational Vehicles To Security Agencies In Ondo

News Investigators/ Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, on Wednesday in Akure, distributed 50 Hilux operational vehicles to security agencies in the state.

The event, which was part of activities to mark the governor’s 100 days in office, had all the heads of security agencies present.

Mr Aiyedatiwa said that the security of lives and properties of residents in the state was a sacred trust.

He commended the security agencies in the state, saying they had been steadfast in discharging their duties to protect the residents.

The governor also, restated commitment to supporting the agencies.

”The vehicles are a token of my appreciation for the dedication and service of the security outfits in the state; it is one of the ways of strengthening security apparatus in the state.

“We see this as a major constitutional responsibility of every government.

“It is noteworthy to mention that in July 2024, we distributed 25 units of branded Toyota Hilux vehicles to security agencies.

“This milestone marks a giant step forward in our administration’s commitment to security and underscores our resolve to support our security agencies,” Mr Aiyedatiwa said.

The governor tasked the security agencies to make good use of the vehicles for security patrols, emergency responses and other security related activities.

Also, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Taiwo Fasoranti, said that the present administration had not taken security matters lightly.

Fasoranti stated that the government was firmly committed to promoting orderliness and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the state.

He added that the administration remained resolute in upholding its social contract with the people of Ondo State.

The SSG described the latest disbursement of operational vehicles to security outfits as another clear demonstration of the administration’s dedication to securing the state.

In his goodwill message, the Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Justin Ifeanyi, who spoke on behalf of all security agencies in the state, assured that the vehicles would be put to effective use and properly maintained.

Similarly, the Commander of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), Chief Adetunji Adeleye, expressed gratitude to the state government, saying, ”the vehicle will ease the mobility challenges faced by security personnel.”
