Agip lifts Force Majeure, Resumes gas export

The parent company to Nigerian Agip Oil Company, Eni, has said that it has fixed its 24 inch gas line at Okaka, Yenagoa which forced it to declare a force majeure and halted its gas export.

The Director-General and Chief Executive of National Oil Spills Detection and Response Agency, Mr Idris Musa, attributed the leaks on the pipeline l to nefarious activities of vandals.

The vandalized pipeline operated by NAOC resulted in suspension of a five million standard cubic meter per day has supply to the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas

Eni said in a statement on Friday that the Force Majeure has been lifted for the commencement of normal operations and export.

“Following the restoration of the Ogboinbiri to Obiafu/Obrikom Gas pipeline at Okaka in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, which suffered a hacksaw cut caused by a third-party interference on April 5th.

“Force majeure has been lifted at Bonny NLNG on April 13th. The FM was declared on April 6th,” Eni statement read in part.

It would be recalled that the facility which went up in flames had suffered a second attack in days.
