•••CALLS FOR END TO WORSENING INSECURITY
The Sokoto State Governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidental aspirant, for 2023, Aminu Tambuwal, has urged politicians in the country to play politics of issues rather than personalities.
Tambuwal on Thursday, appealed to politicians to be decent in their uttarances and actions and concentrate on issue based politics instead of attacking personalities, which he said leads to disaffection in the polity.
He explained that dialogue is the key to resolving political differences at all times.
Tambuwal was in Bayelsa State, during the inauguration of the New Yenagoa City link bridge and road projects at Onopa in the state capital, Yenagoa.
He stressed that Nigeria, a blessed country to the African continent, has no business to fail, adding that the country should use its diversity to make it work.
Tambuwal challenged politicians to involve themselves more with decent issues and open up engagements that could bring solutions to solve the challenges of leadership failures at the centre, insecurity, dying economy and development of the people.
He tasked the Federal Government to do the needful by ending the senseless killings and revamping the ailing national economy.
“Our differences should be resolved through dialogue and not raising tempers and emotions.” He said
The chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, commended Governor Douye Diri, for not abandoning projects started by his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, saying he deserved praise for practising continuity in governance.
He commended Diri for his exemplary style of leadership, impactful and positive governance in the state.
The Sokoto State Governor, therefore, urged the people of Bayelsa State, to support Diri in order for him to continually deliver good governance in the state.
“This link road and bridge project signify a lot. Continuity in governance is very important. When some governors come in, they abandon existing unfinished projects. Governor Diri, I commend you for completing projects started by the previous government because that is the way to go.
“You are also bringing back together everyone and it is important to close ranks to provide leadership to our people. So it behoves on us to support good governance as examplified by Governor Diri. Development is for everyone irrespective of political party”. Tambuwal said.
