…WARN IGBO POLITICIANS AGAINST CARELESS UTTERANCES

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ohanaeze Youth Council on Monday described the entrance of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi as “a revolution” waiting to happen.

The group expressed their support to the former Governor of Anambra State. Mr. Peter Obi on his ambition of becoming the President of Nigeria.

The Igbo youths also warned politicians of South East extraction to guard their political statements and utterances adding that 2023 is beyond Mr. Peter Obi’s ambition but that of the Nigerian youths.

“We use this opportunity to advise the likes of Jim Nwodobo, Hope Uzodinma, Okezie Ikpeazu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and David Umahi to guide their public speeches because 2023 is beyond political permutations.

The President of the OYC, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, disclosed this during a press briefing in Owerri, Imo State.

He added that Mr. Peter Obi’s presidential project has triggered massive “voter Registration Revolution.”

According to Igboayaka, Mr. Peter Obi’s his emergence as Labour Party’s presidential candidate is causing an unprecedented voter- registration surge in the country.

He urged the Independent Election Commission (INEC) to organize a national honor for Mr. Peter Obi, for doing their work in sensitising the public on voter education and awareness.

“The already long dead interest of most Nigerians in the nation’s politics has suddenly been rekindled by the declaration of Mr. Peter Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, and his subsequent emergence as the presidential candidate of Labour party.

“This is evident in the influx of persons into INEC offices in quest for the Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, in readiness for the forthcoming 2023 general election, inspite of over 20-years of total abstinence from electoral participation.

“It is no longer news that Mr. Obi has gained massive support of citizens across the various regions of the country, hence the party currently poses a serious threat to all other opposition parties including the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.” He said.

He said over the years, INEC had spent billions on voter education and sensitisation with little or no positive response from the masses adding that with Peter Obi, the INEC job becomes easier this year.

“Mr. Peter Obi’s candidature in Labour Party that gave birth to “OBIdient movement” has recorded large turn out of voters registration within a short period.

“It’s a truism that the 2022 voters registration has recorded much voters registration than 2014, 2010, 2006 and 2002, in the history of new democratic despensation

“Mr. Peter Obi’s entrance in the 2023 Presidential race has achieved in three months, what INEC couldn’t achieve in 24 years.

“Therefore we call on INEC to prepare a national honor to Mr. Peter Obi for making voters education very easy and acceptable.

“The 2023 presidential election have exposed Nigerians particularly the youth that there only two political parties in Nigeria, the oppressed and the oppressors, APC and PDP belong are the oppressors while the oppressed is Labour Party and other political parties.

“It’s obvious that Mr. Peter Obi presidential project has triggered voter registration Revolution, many Nigerians that have lost interest in Nigeria’s election system, and have not voted for the past 16 to 20 years have regained interest. Even those that have never voted before are trooping in to obtain their voter’s card.

According to the President of the Igbo youths, All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), are the real enemies of the South-East, because of their hatred of the region.

He stated that both major parties have jointly denied the region the deserved right to produce their Presidential candidates

According to the Council, they will do anything possible to frustrate the two main parties victory in South East in the general election.

“Our Common enemies in 2023 election is APC and PDP, and to unchain ourselves and future children from political and economic slavery is a task we must fulfill by ensuring that APC and PDP will not win one Seat in Southeast.

“Like APC and PDP humiliated Southeast presidential aspirants, we must reciprocate such wickedness towards them, as a litmus test to show how dissatisfied Southeastners are over these parties. This we must do so as to send a signal that “No party” will toy with Ndigbo and go scot-free.

He described the massive demand for a new Nigeria which he maintained is represented by Mr. Peter Obi’s presidential project adding that his love by the youths of Nigeria is cut across tribal, religion, party, profession and gender or race.

He stated that Nigerians will experience “a ballot revolution” for the first time in the history of the country; for the hour of liberation of Nigeria has come”.
