2023: Hundreds Of Widows Vow To Curse Forces Against Obi, Umeh, LP

By John Ugo, Awka

Hundreds of widows drawn from across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State have vowed to unleash curses on any person or group who will work against the victory of the Labour Party and it’s Presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi and others from Anambra State in the 2023 general elections.

They specifically mentioned the presidential candidate of the LP, Peter Obi, and the Anambra Central Senatorial District candidate of the party, Senator Victor Umeh, as their adopted candidates in the elections.

The widows said they would volunteer their ‘widow’s mite’ towards ensuring the victory of the LP and its candidates in the poll in the state.

Spokesperson for the widows in the State, Ms Hope Nwandu, told newsmen on Saturday  that those who were sharing millions of Naira to the wards in Anambra Central District where Obi and Umeh hail from to frustrate the victory of the LP in the district were attracting curses upon themselves.

Nwandu said, “As the 2023 general elections gather momentum, we, the widows, in Anambra State, have vowed to curse any body who will stand on the way of Senator Victor Umeh and former governor Peter Obi in the poll.”

According to the group, “Nothing will stop Senator Victor Umeh from winning the Central Senatorial poll come 2023 because he is a good man with capacity to make Anambra and Ndigbo proud in the Senate. Anybody contesting the election against Umeh will have themselves to blame. We are in spirit the praying about this project.”

“Those selfish people who are contesting against Umeh are just wasting their time. Where have they been, any time election comes, they start sharing money, cloths rice and other things, something Umeh does as a routine.”

“After the elections, these ‘urban guerrilla’ politicians won’t pick their calls again. But Umeh has always been there for the down trodden, whether he is holding any political office or not.”

She alleged that one of the senatorial candidates had started giving out one million naira to each ward in the Anambra Central Senatorial District, pointing out that it would be exercise in futility.

Nwandu stated that, ” the mobilization of over 3,000 of our members is on and anybody who thinks he or she can truncate the people’s choice in that election will have us to contend with.”

Recall that Senator Umeh, a former national chairman of APGA had recently defected to LP.
