The Lagos People’s Assembly, LPA, on Friday, appealed to the Lagos State branch of the All Progressives Congress, APC, leadership and stakeholders to return unconditionally, the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for second term to complete his good work in the state.
The LPA in World Press Conference held in Lagos at the Excellence Hotel, Ogba, said Sanwo -Olu deserved an unconditional return to the Goverment House Alausa, Ikeja, because of his unprecedented achievement in the last three and half years.
According to the Group, in the past three years, Lagos State, experienced the transformational leadership of the Governor, adding that the workaholic Governor has been effective and efficient n his administration.
“Our state has experienced the transformational leadership, provided by the All Progressives Congress APC, being directed effectively, by the workaholic governor of our dear state, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
“The last three years of Governor Sanwo-Olu, witnessed an unprecedented commitment, of his administration, to the implementation of the Lagos master plan, an agenda initiated by the National leader of the APC, our dear Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Not only has this made us proud as a people, but have also reinforced our confidence, in the leadership of governor Sanwo-Olu.
“We are proud, that the APC in 2019, gave us such a credible and committed candidate in the person of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2019 and he has in every sense of sincerity, justified the confidence reposed in him by the party then.
“Therefore, as we move closer to the critical processes that will culminate in the 2023 general election, it has become imperative, not only to inform the general public of our determination, to return Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office” The group said.
The Convener of the Group, Ologun Emmanuel, in his speech said the group appreciated the leadership of the governor and demands from the leadership of the APC, to return Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, unconditionally, as the party’s Governorship candidate, for the 2023 Governorship election in the state.
” We want to say it loud and clear, that after considering so many things, we have seen Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as the best option to continue as the governor of our dear state. Consequently, we call on all well-meaning Lagosians to join us.
“Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu had beyond reasonable doubt proved his mettle to lead Lagos state to greater heights, based on his administration’s commitment, to massive infrastructural development, the exceptional success in tackling the Global menace of Coronavirus, strategic solutions to traffic gridlock as well as key interventions in various sectors in the State in the last 3 years.
“Since May 29, 2019, when he took the mantle of leadership in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has made it clear that he is out to deliver on all the campaign promises of the APC. Looking back today, we as Lagosians, are very proud of his achievements and the renewed vigour which he has brought to governance Lagos State.” Ologun Emmanuel, stated.
