…INAUGURATES COMMITTEE FOR CAMPAIGN IN EKITI

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Adamu on Monday, reinterated the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to handover power in 2023 without delay at expiration of his tenure.

Adamu disclosed this while inaugurating a committee that will take charge of campaign and marketing of the APC gubernatorial candidate in Ekiti State.

He stated that the excercise was hitch-free one.

He reemphasizes at the beginning of his tenure, made no secret of his determination, as a man of honour not to seek tenure extension.

He said the President who has been elected for a second time is under oath to protect and preserve the Nigerian constitution.

“The Nigerian constitution has given him two terms of four years each, he has started his second term and at the end of it, he doesn’t intend to and doesn’t ask for anybody to ask for a third term or any elongation of tenure.

“Recently, he made the same pronouncement sometimes early this year…”

The National Chairman of APC, however, inaugurated the committee that will take charge of campaign, marketing of APC candidate in Ekiti State, stating that the excercise was a hitch-free one.

He commended the aspirants who contested the Primaries for accepting its result adding that the Ekiti chapter of the party deserves commendation.

Adamu charged the campaign Committee to ensure that the campaign process takes off effectively.

“Our first gubernatorial primary since coming to office was the governorship of Ekiti and it was hitch-free.

The fact that no one is challenging the outcome of this primary is a very big kudos for the Ekiti chapter of our great party.

“With this inauguration today, we are giving a matching order to the campaign council and our great people of Ekiti State particularly our on the platform of our great party the APC.

“Ekiti is the first election that we will be having, in this dispensation of APC. God has blessed our lives; God has blessed my life and my political career.

Once there’s a contest, there will be a winner and a loser, we are never on the losing side.

“But we don’t take that for granted. We are going to work as hard as we can to ensure that we deliver our gubernatorial candidate as the next governor of Ekiti State.

“As we inaugurate this Committee, I have one thing in the marching order of this party and that, you don’t come home crying. If there is any crying, let them go and cry for their principals, not us.” He said .

He added that the President is serious about the Ekiti gubernatorial election and urged the members of the party to play according to the rules of the game by following the instructions and guidelines of the umpires.
