As the campaign for the Delta Central Senatorial District’s seat, nears its final, the people are beginning to see glimpses of what Senator Peters Omaruaye’s representation signifies to the people of Urhobo land. In the last 10 days, Omaruaye has made several deliberate visits to strategic locations that provide insight into the type of  senator he would be if elected.

He took his mission of development  to  a book launch in Sapele by His Lordship Rt. Rev’d Dr. Blessing Avwenayeri Erifeta (JP) at Christ Anglican Pro-Cathedral in Sapele. Omaruaye also received a warm welcome from the people of Unenurhie on February 5th, where he was received in style in the spectacular  style of the Urhobos. The Senatorial Candidate also met with the ‘Men to Boys football club’ at Army Day Secondary School Effurun on January 28th.  The outpouring of support from young people is notable and point in the direction of a victory who time has come.

Omaruaye took out time to address  the concerns of the people during rallies in various communities, leaving no one in doubt about his beautiful intentions for the area. These communities include Otor-Udu, Oghior, Ohwrode, Ovwodokpkpo, Erhieuiohor, Ogbe-udu, Okolo-Urhie, Okolo-Otor, Ukpiovwini, Emadadja, Obogo, Obubu, Ugbisi, Ekorota and Ukperheren. At these rallies, Omaruaye pledged to work towards rehabilitating, or reacquiring the Delta Steel Plant, which was envisioned as the foundation of industrialization in the Niger Delta, on behalf of the people of Udu and the Central District.

Popular Guber candidate of APGA in Delta State, and lover of his people, Chief Great Ogboru, also spoke at the rallies and challenged Delta State to acquire the company on behalf of the state from its current foreign investors if the federal government fails to act on the matter.

Finally, on February 15th, a major flag-off of the campaign was held at the Ughelli township stadium, with Chief Great Ogboru in attendance. By all accounts, the well attended events signifies victory for Omaruaye and other APGA candidates for seats in the State assembly, the House of Representatives, and indeed the governorship of Delta State.

With the reassuring successes at the rallies , it is clear that the momentum is building for Omaruaye and the APGA candidates in the election election scheduled for February 25.

With just a few days  to the polls,  it has become clearer that the people are convinced that giving their votes to the popular candidates of the APGA with a long history of achievements – Omaruaye for the Central  Senatorial District and progressives movement of Sir Great Ogboru for the Governorship- means progress and development to the senatorial district and the state.
