The Federal Government has shut down all private schools in Abuja as a precautionary measure against the terrorists threat in the city.
The decision was contained in statement by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools in Nigeria, Abuja.
The statement instructed all School owners to conclude all examinations by Wednesday for all schools to be closed.
“Dear school educators, instruction reaching me now from the Ag. Director DQA is that the FCT Education secretariat has directed that schools are to make sure all examinations going on should be ended by Wednesday, July 27, 2022, and all students including those in boarding should be allowed to go home for the holiday.” The message read
The decision followed threats of terrorists Attacks in the FCT.
The terrorists whose plot to unleash mayhem at the Nigeria Law School, Bwari killed two officers and a soldier of the Presidential Guards in an ambush.
Two officers of the Guards Brigade who paid the supreme price in defence of the fatherland are lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman and Captain Samuel Attah, both indigenes of Kogi State.
Similarly, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp uncovered a deadly plan by the Boko Haram and the Islamic State of West Africa to Katsina, Abuja and other cities in the country.
The Deputy Comptroller General, Operations of the NSCDC, DD Mungadi made the troubling revelation in a memo dated July 25, and sent to all state commands in the country.
He said that the terrorists were assembling high caliber weapons such as anti-aircraft weapons, machine guns and rocket propelled grenade in a planned attack on Katsina.
The memo also stated that two groups of bandits were plotting attacks in the North West, North Central, South West and the Federal Capital territory, Abuja.
The security operatives averted a planned terrorists attack on the Nigeria Law School, Bwari following a timely intelligence on impending attack by the lethal group.
Two officers of the Guards Brigade lieutenant Ibrahim Suleiman and Captain Samuel Attah, both indigenes of Kogi State, lost their lives in the ambush.
The Guards Brigade is the elite force of the Nigerian Army which secures the President, Vice President, their families and indeed the Federal Capital Territory.
