The Deputy National Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Party (APC) Senator Abubakar Kyari, on Monday, took over leadership of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party.
This was after the said resignation of the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu at the weekend.
According to sources, Adamu and National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore tendered their resignations at the weekend.
The Deputy National Chairman led a team of seven other members of the NWC to a meeting in his office on Monday in absence of Adamu
It was gathered that the official car belonging to the Deputy National Chairman, was seen parked at the corner reserved for the National Chairman.
At the meeting the National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore, at the secretariat and joined others in the meeting.
Kyari came in with the Deputy National Chairman (South) Emma Enukwu; National Vice Chairman (North West) Salihu Lukman; National Vice Chairman (North East) Salihu Mustapha; National Vice Chairman (North Central) Muazu Bawa; National Vice Chairman(South West) Issacs Kekemeke; National Vice Chairman (South East) Ejoroma Arodiogu and the Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter
There was heavy presence of security at the National secretariat of the APC, with vehicler moment obstructed as motorists and passers by were made to go thorough checks.
