The Ekiti state police command has paraded 98 suspected thugs arrested by the Military at the border town of Itawure, Efon Alaye, in the build up to the just concluded Governorship primary of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), in the state.
The suspected thugs reportedly took off from Ibadan, Oyo state in convoy of buses.
Our correspondent gathered that luck ran against them when their buses were intercepted at Itawure junction by soldiers on stop and search duty.
Parading the suspects before newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu said they were arrested at Itawure junction
Abutu who concealed the identity of their sponsors said the command is aware of them and would disclose them as and when due.
The Police spokesperson stated that the suspects would be charged to court after completion of the police investigation.
