The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has cleared air on the controversies surrounding his becoming the Vice President to President Mohammadu Buhari.

Osinbajo said that the reason for his explanation was to let people understand the principle of divine destiny stating that one’s life can turn around at any given time.

Osinbajo disclosed this on Wednesday, April 27 while hosting members of the State House Press Corps to an Iftar dinner in Abuja.

According to Osinbajo, selecting him as running mate to President Buhari sounded to him as a surprise thing

The Vice president revealed that in 2014, he got a call from the current minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola at about 1 am, why in his study, preparing over a court case.

He stated that Aregbesola told him that they were on their way to Lagos to pick him. But that he told Aregbesola that he was not in Lagos but also in Abuja.

“Aregbesola responded, “Good because you have been nominated as the vice-presidential candidate’

He stated that in responding to Aregbesola’s statement, that he queried him, whether that’s how they nominate people.

According to the Vice President, after his case at the court in Abuja, he returned to his house and that later that evening, he saw Aregbesola and the Governor of Ogun State at the time, Ibikunle Amosun.

He said they came in his apartment and took him to see the presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.
