ABARIBE DUMPS PDP, RESIGNS AS SENATE MINORITY LEADER

The Senate Minority Leader, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.

The vibrant and articulate Senator has not given an indication of his next destination.

Abaribe’s decision is a direct fall out d of his unsuccessful bid for the party’s governorship ticket for Abia State.

Abaribe announced his resignation from the PDP and his position as the Senate Minority Leader in separate letters to the PDP Ward Chairman and the President of Senate.

He stated in his letter to the PDP that he took the decision to resign after consultations with his constituents because of decisions of the party which he described as illegal, dictatorial and shameful.”

“I write to inform you of my decision to resign as a member of (the) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“This development is consequent upon the shameful display of illegality, impunity and undemocratic decision of the party and after due consultations with my constituents.” He said

Abaribe’s letter to the Senate President notified him and the Senate of his decision to resign from the PDP through his ward chairman and his resultant resignation as Senate Minority Leader.

“This is to notify you and my dear colleagues in the Senate that I have formally resigned my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party through my ward. This also means my resignation as (the) Minority Leader of the Senate.

“I wish to thank you and my dear colleagues in the Leadership of the Senate for the warm camaraderie we enjoyed while I was Minority Leader.” The letter read.
