34 Ibadan-based Baales and Mogajis who were elevated to the position of coronet-wearing Obas by the immediate past governor of Oyo state, Late Isiaq Ajimobi have lost their status.
Ruling on a suit filed before the Oyo State High Court, the claimant, ( 34 coronet-wearing Baales and Mogajis) on Thursday in Ibadan, the Chief Judge of Oyo State, Munta Abimbola, ordered them to return to their former positions before the recommendation of Justice Akintunde Boade Commission of inquiry.
It will be recalled that affected 34 coronet-wearing Baales and Mogajis were elevated alongside some High Chiefs by the immediate past governor of the State.
Justice Abimbola in his ruling issued an order of perpetual injunction, restraining them from the status of elevation or wearing crowns or coronets.
With reference to the evidence and submission before the Court, the Chief Judge said he found no merit in their application before the court, and dismissed it in its entirety and answered all their prayers in the negative.
He further held that all government’s action must be in compliance with the law of the land.
The claimants in their argument submitted said that the consent judgement which nullified the review that elevated them was not valid as they were not part of those who made the agreements that formed the consent judgment.
