2023: Don’t Vote Along Ethno-Religious Lines, Myetti Allah Tells Nigerians

By Kamsi Anayo

The leadership of the South-East Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) has advised Nigerians to vote for the most credible presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.

The group said Nigerians should shun primordial sentiments and ethno-religious leanings during the polls to wrest the country from the woods.

The South-East Chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Gidado Sidikki, stated this on Tuesday during a press conference in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

He said, “About the 2023 presidential elections, I advised Nigerians to vote for the most credible presidential candidate that will make Nigeria safe for every citizen, irrespective of tribe or religion.

“I also call on our members across the country to restrict their movement during the campaigns. They should inform their parents or masters whenever they are going out for grazing.”

Sidikki who hailed the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo on his six months’ achievement in office, said within the period, the governor had shown unequalled dedication, commitment, devotion and selflessness in service.

He described him as a man with clear and resolute ambition to achieve greatness for the people.

He said, “Within this short period, the governor has successfully battled insecurity, advanced the frontiers of peace in the state, declared a state of emergency on roads, launched youth empowerment programmes and other humanitarian services for the people.

“I believe that Governor Soludo, as a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); an economic consultant to so many International business organisations, has the capacity to deliver on all his campaign promises to his people.

“Since he came on board as the governor of Anambra State, members of the cattle breeders have not experienced any form of threat or any challenge that can jeopardise our existence in the state.”

He assured that his members would continue to live in peace and harmony with their host communities not only in Anambra but the entire South-East states.
