Ugwu emerges Enugu Assembly Speaker

Rt Hon. Uche Ugwu of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday emerged the new Speaker of Enugu Assembly .

In his inaugural address he assured that the House under his leadership will be fair to all irrespective of their political party and make people oriented laws.

Ugwu also assured that the assembly will leave up to expectation and “align themselves with the disruptive innovation of the Gov. Peter Mbah.”

“The House shall adopt discussion, positive engagement rather than confrontation with the Executives in the interest of the People of Enugu State and promote laws that will make the Governor deliver on his promises to the people of the state.

Reacting to the composition of the House which is made up of Labour Party and the PDP,  Ugwu said that “the diversity in the House which has never been seen before since the return of democracy in 1999 will be a source of strength and will not divide us.”

The current House is made up 14 Labour Party members and ten PDP members.
