Newly Cleared Minister, Goodluck Opiah, Pledges to Promote Executive/Legislature Relationship

Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nana Opiah, one of the seven new confirmed minister designate has commended President Muhammed Buhari for finding him worthy to further contribute Nigeria development.

Opiah, one-time House of Representatives member for Ohaji-Egbema- Oguta-Oru West Federal Constituency and also former Speaker Imo House of Assembly between 2007 and 2011, gave the assurance at the hallow senate chamber, Abuja on Wednesday.

He said that he was anxious and interested to serve the country in any ministerial capacity having been given the  opportunity to contribute to  the country’s development as a minister of the Federal Republic.

The 58 year-old politician and a master degree holder in corporate governance from Leeds Metropolitan University, United Kingdom assured of his readiness to replicate his sterling performance in Imo State at the Federal level 

The former commissioner for Petroleum Resources in Imo state before his nomination to serve as a member of Federal Executive Council said his invaluable experience in the parliament would his performance in the new job.

He promised to take advantage of his experience as a lawmaker to promote productive  relationship between the executive and the legislature.

“Unfortunately I cannot l be categorical about I intend to do here because I don’t know the ministry I am going to serve. 

“I don’t know the issues there that will require my attention, but going to be a member of Federal Executive Council obviously will provide me the opportunity to share views with other members of Exco with view to finding solutions to Nigeria problems.

“So I intend to do so by using my experience, using every little knowledge I have garnered over the years,” Opiah said.
