Atiku Promises to Unite Nigeria, Fight Insecurity if Elected President

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku, has promised to unite Nigeria if elected.

Atiku in his acceptance speech after his election as the Presidential Candidate of the PDP accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of reversing the gains of the ousted PDP administration.

He accused the APC Government of dividing Nigerians along ethnic and religious lines.

He promised to work with those who contested against him to build a solid party that can wrest control of political power from the APC in 2023.

He said, “Today, we are making another history which we believe will bring about fundamental changes in governance and also our political processes.

“Today, we have witnessed another one of the freest elections to be conducted by our great party,

“Today  marks another milestone in the process to consolidate democracy.

“On March  23rd when I declared my intent to contest for the Presidency, I made a commitment to unify this country.

“The reason why I felt unity is very important to us is because the APC Government has disunited the country along tribal, religious and ethnic lines.”

Atiku promised also to deal with the biting problem of insecurity and the economic challenges facing the country.
