News Investigators/ Nigerian Army troops have captured a Boko Haram/Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) stronghold in Borno State.

This triumph comes as part of Operation Desert Sanity III, a coordinated effort utilizing artillery and air bombardments, combined with ground combat along Ngumne, Kawaran, and Mangu Axis within the Sambisa Forest and Timbuktu Triangle.

According to authoritative military sources, despite encountering threats from improvised explosive devices and fierce resistance from the terrorists, the troops engaged them with overwhelming firepower, effectively dislodging them from their stronghold.

The operation yielded crucial gains, with the gallant soldiers seizing essential armaments and equipment, including two gun trucks, a 105mm Pack Howitzer, two exploded improvised explosive device cases, and a burnt Rocket-Propelled Grenade tube.

Furthermore, the terrorist enclaves were obliterated by the advancing troops.

This audacious military campaign underscores the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to eradicate terrorism and restore peace and security to the region.

The recovery of heavy artillery pieces and gun trucks represents a significant setback for the terrorist groups, further weakening their capabilities and resolve.
