News Investigators/ President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate settlement of outstanding electricity bill owed by the State House to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company.

The directive follows the reconciliation of accounts between the State House Management and AEDC.

The AEDC had initial claimed that the State House owed N923million debt in paid advertorial in newspapers, a figure that was disputed.

Following the reconciliation of the figures, the State House outstanding bill stands at N342, 352, 217.46, according to a letter by the management of AEDC to the State House Permanent Secretary dated February 14, 2024.

Having reconciled the position to the satisfaction of both parties, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has given assurance that the debt will be paid to AEDC before the end of this week.

The Presidency urged other MDAs to follow its example by reconciling their accounts with AEDC and pay their electricity bills.
