Niger Delta Avengers Blow Up NNPC Pipeline In Warri

By Sadiq Umar – Barely 24hours after similar attack on Chevron oil facilities, the Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibility for another attack on oil pipelines belonging to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NNPC) in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria.

The attack occurred late Thursday around Batan community in Warri South West Local Government of the State.

The militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks in a series of post on its twitter handle.

The tweets confirmed that the attack was carried out late Thursday, adding that the Militants that carried out the deadly blast have been upgraded to the rank of “Brig. General”.

The series of attacks by the Avengers have affected the daily production of oil multinationals in the Niger Delta region, leading to a sharp from over 2 million daily production output to barely over I million barrel per day.

Already, some oil companies have declared force majure (emergency) due to insecurity and damaged to oil facilities.
