By Sadiq Umar – The President of the Court of Appeal, Zainab Bulkachuwa, on Wednesday constituted a new panel to hear the appeals on the leadership tussle in the Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The move followed the Tuesday withdrawal of the Justice Jummai Sankey led 3-member appeal panel from the appeal case involving Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim who was announced under controversial circumstance by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as PDP gubernatorial candidate and Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) considered to be the authentic party candidate in the elections slated for November 26, 2016.
The Jimoh Ibrahim group had accused Justice Sankey of financial inducement a day when the panel was to deliver ruling.
The Makarfi PDP faction in Ondo State had described the accusation as a plot to delay justice.
The newly constituted appeal panel is expected to deliver ruling on the matter by Saturday.
