The Nigerian military has deployed soldiers to the north-central states of Nasarawa, Kaduna, Benue, Kwara and Kogi to tackle the menace of incessant rushing in the area.

There have been increasing spate of violence arising from conflict between cattle-rearer and farmers on one hand and cattle-rushlers on the other hand leading to wanton destruction of lives and properties in the zone.

Army spokesman, Col. Abubakar Rabe in a tweet confirmed the latest moves, saying

“Military men are deployed to the North Central checking the excesses of the cattle ranchers.

“Nigerians are encouraged to come up with information to assist the military and other security agencies in our efforts to end violence and blood shed,” Rabe said.
